Andrew qualified as an Architect in 1995, having studied at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen and
completing his Post Graduate Diploma at the Ecole d’Architecture de Clermond-Ferrand, France.
Significant experience in residential developments, with clients including Miller Homes, Buredi and Bishoploch Ltd.
Property Development Appraisals and Feasibility Studies. The design review and appraisal of sites to increase their
density, reduce build costs and investigate the possibility to change the use classification of buildings. Recent
successes include:
• Tower St. Leith: Non-material variation obtained to the approved Planning Permission, with a 20%
increase in floor space achieved to the residential floor-space over 16 flats and an increase from 80 to
130sqm across the ground floor commercial unit.
• Great Junction St. Leith: Successful negotiations with the Planning Authority have resulted in a
potential increase from the approved 28no. residential units on the site to a total of up to 45no. flats.
Notable works to several substantial residences for private clients to a high standard of design and specification,
from Grade-A listed town-houses to a new-build detached house within the Gullane Hill Conservation Area.
Proven expertise in major Crown Estate projects including:
• Project Leader for the £40m redevelopment of Glencorse Barracks, Midlothian, including Design Team Leader role for the SNCOs Mess - now considered the ‘exemplar model’ for all
future MOD projects of this nature

• New Junior Ranks Mess facility at RAF Kinloss, project value £4.5m
• New Combined Ground Support and Motor Transport Facility at RAF Leuchars
