FOLDAWAY STAIR
Darnaway Street, Edinburgh
A clever solution was required to provide temporary access to a store room at high-level above the kitchen larder.
The brief was to provide a set of stairs as an alternative to a ladder, whilst allowing clear access between kitchen and dining rooms when not in use.
The finished stair was formed in sycamore and can be readily wheeled into place, whilst also providing some useful additional storage.
